Gold Update
It’s been a while since I posted about how I’m doing with my gold. Time for an update!
Since reaching the gold cap I’ve relaxed on levels of activity but didnt by any means stop posting auctions or making gold. I bought the [Grand Black War Mammoth] drop for 10k off someone after I lost the roll since I’m a sucker for feats of strength.
I also slowly gathered the materials to craft a [Sulfuron Hammer] in the naive hope an [Eye of Sulfuras] will drop for me one of these weeks. Interesting to note the price variability (and rareness) of [Blood of the Mountain]. Definite profit there!
With that said and a little gold spent I’m currently around 220k liquid with a lot more than that in materials. I’ve been enjoying using the remote armory lately too, mainly for searching for and buying cheap materials. I think it’s too inefficient to use to cancel/relist undercut auctions at this stage.

I’ve been buying up hugely on enchanting materials whenever the market takes a dip. I’ve also been buying up loads of cheap items on US-Shadowsong to transfer across with my old alts when I finally move them to US-Aman’thul with Saate.
Here’s a quick mashup of two screenshots I took this morning showing some of the stuff I’ve been saving, probably most notable in that lot is the 70 x [Pristine Black Diamond] that I’ve been buying on US-Shadowsong for 50-150g!

I never seem to have much need for gold whatsoever, and I play my characters similar to the way I live in real life – try to get the money I need, save up when I can, but just be kind of watchful of my spending.
Of course, since I constantly make new alts within a month or so of hitting 80, often all the money I make goes right back into buying dual spec, epic flying, bags, and various other costs.
I’ve stopped going out of my way to make money, though, and yet I’ve still made a couple thousand gold in the last week just doing heroics and auctioning anything I pick up.

I’ve been checking the AH on shadowsong everyday, where are these 50-150g pbd that you speak of? :o
I’ve been buying a lot of herbs lately to make cards to try to minimize my farming. I’m at about 80,000 gold. I’ve still got more than when I started the insane grind.
I hate you for the diamonds, i haven’t seen one in my server for over 2 weeks :S and the last one was at 300g bid so yeah… GL on the Sulfuras, Hand of Ragnaros, that will look beast :D

@Missus – hehe, the last few weeks they’ve actually been a lot higher on Shadowsong! Like 300-400g although I’ve picked up a few for 200g-ish which is still lower than Aman’thul and will make me a profit.
At one stage there was a glut of them in the AH at that 50-150g price range. Maybe two weeks back as well I picked up a few for…I think 60g each?
I should transfer them soon I guess.
We need some sort of quarterly updates with balance sheets and revenue statements.

Well, it’s obvious I’ve been studying business studies at the moment. Crunch draws near for me and I don’t think I’ll be back at it any time soon.

Good luck on that hammer, i got one on my pally alt and still want one on my mage, even though i can’t equip it and get the FoS. I’ve even got the hammer made just waiting for the eye, but being exalted down there makes the incentive fairly low, heh.
WTB 30 pristine black diamonds
I have been extensively using the Remote AH app… While Pristine Black Diamonds are few and far between on my server, I have been able to grab my phone in between meetings at work and snag all the remaining I needed for the grind.
Total lifesaver.
I was pretty lucky to get the eye in my ~30th run.
I run MC on a weekly basis for a chance at the bindings. Had my Eye before I even had my first ingot to get the recipe for it. No sight of the bindings. I tap every Dark Iron vein in hopes of a Blood of the Mountain, no dice there or from the mob drops either. That’s all I need to get my Sulfuras, too. Stupid Bloods..
I paid 70 diamonds at 400-500g each. Damn.
