A Very Epic Day
So earlier this week, I happened to do ICC 10 on a Tuesday night with 4 friends and 5 PuGs. We got 10/12 done in one night, and I managed to get a new iLevel 251 mace out of it for my rogue. Given the new weapon, I decided to swap over to a combat build.
Now, my rogue is currently wearing 4/5 t9, 4 pieces of 232 gear, 1 piece of 219 gear, 4 pieces of 245 gear, 2 pieces of 251 gear, 1 piece of 264 gear, and 1 piece of 226 gear. I don’t use gearscore, but I’m on a server that is obsessed with gear, so I happen to know it’s somewhere in the ballpark of 5100. I happen to have a smattering of PvP gear, as well, about 600 resilience or so. Not great, but not terrible. I don’t do arenas, and I haven’t done more than one raid with the character so far.
Now, with all that in mind, I did all this in one day, in this order:
- PuGed the random daily BG with a prot warrior buddy. We got EotS and 4-capped.
- PuGed another random BG with the same friend. Got WSG. The game was 0-0 for the first 19 minutes. In that time, our team managed to snag this achievement. Then I found myself being the flag carrier as the game progressed. Now, I don’t have a video to show you what I’m talking about, but subtlety rogues sometimes use a trick on the roof in WSG where they will jump off the roof while being chased, then shadowstep back to their opponent in mid-air. The result is that the opponent will also run off the roof after the rogue, before realizing they have shadowstepped back up. I always wanted to do that, and I pulled it off twice during that WSG. We ended up winning 3-0 in the last 6 minutes.
- After that, my friend decided to take a break. Another guildmate – a holy pally – was on, so we queued up H HoR. Once we got in, we started, and then suddenly discovered that one of our DPS – a mage – was AFK, and was quickly killed. That left myself and a shadow priest as DPS – the shadow priest had hit 80 3 days prior, and was pulling about 2500 DPS. Now, that’s not terrible, but when 4-manning HoR, can be a liability. Nonetheless, we still managed to 4-man our way all the way through Marwyn, then the mage came back. We rezzed her up, then went to the escape. On the first wave of the escape, the mage lost internet and was killed by the Lich King. We then proceeded to 4-man the entire Escape – and at the end, Sylvanas had 1 HP. That means that we basically broke the last wall as she was taking the last hit, so she went immune at the last second. So we got through all of H HoR, 4-manning with a PuG, without a wipe.
- My server also happens to do VoA 20s, not 25s. I had been turned down from several of these the previous day because of my low gearscore, much to my frustration. However, I got invited along to one today. Now, I know ranged DPS has to switch targets to take down orbs, so it’s not the best measure of “who’s doing the most damage,” but I was very happy that in a group with 12 other DPS besides myself, I came out #1 on damage done by a 2% margin.

So let me tell you, as far as a typical day in WoW goes, mine was filled with epic moments. Anyone else have some awesome days?
Speaking of epic days yesterday was especially epic for me. I have been leveling an alliance rogue level 55(I play horde) and I wanted to transfer the two piece boe T1 rogue gear over to him. So I get a friend of mine to go to booty bay on an alliance so he could buy them and then send them to my rogue. In this process somebody else bought my belt and bracers. So I /who him on horde and nothing comes up. I get on my alli guy and /who him and there he was in Tanaris, so I message him asking politely if I could maybe have the boes back or buy them back. He basically told me to f off which kind of irritated me. So being the PvP fanatic that I am I went and ganked him quite a few times.(He moved from Tanaris to Silithus in an attempt to run)
Which in turn irritated him so he got ten to fifteen people from his guild to come camp me. I die maybe two times then they start to whisper me pay 1000g and we will stop camping you so thats when I think OK it is on.
I get four of my very good friends to come help me out. So I rez and I run to the gates of AQ40 and get a low level to help me summon. After getting the four people I needed we went back to their huge group (of twelve at the time) and an epic battle ensued. After about three minutes of fighting we finally get all of them down. About five minutes later they all rez but they weren’t very coordinated so we murdered them.
Twenty minutes later I get a whisper saying “We left because the odds were unfair” It was five Vs. twelve and that was unfair for them?!?!
And to think all of this started over some boe epic level 60 gear.
