New Free Gold Guide – Gold for Dummies
Hey Hey, well this is exciting! I’ve just finished putting the finishing touches on my new gold guide [Gold for Dummies]. I’m pretty happy with how the graphics turned out and I think the information is basic but informative so I hope people find it useful.
I decided to do something different for this as well. I’ve included a 2 minute video introduction to the guide that I hope takes some step toward breaking the ‘..but I have to read?’ dread that those-in-need often encounter with material like this.

It’s funny how making gold on WOW is similar to playing the financial markets. Your strategy will be determiend by your appetite for risk i.e. would you rather a steady but moderate flow of gold from farming ores.. or would your rather gamble on farming a rare companion pet that sells for several thousand gold?
The more familiar you become with the market prices the better you will become at taking advantage of arbitrage opportunities (i.e. purchasing somethign that is underpriced and selling it on for a profit).
This takes time, but you will also become better at evaluating opportunity cost. If you notice the market price of mithril ore is higher than usual you may still decide to farm fel iron ore instead if it has a slightly lower price but due to less competition will ensure a higher yield.
There really is no ‘sell X’ to earn gold approach, since like in the real world it is all influenced by supply and demand.
