Insane Reputations needed at same time?
I recently responded to a post on the official WoW forums on this topic. I thought it might be worthwhile to bring it up with you guys to discuss.
The gist of my response is “No, from information available you most likely will not need the reputations at the same time. Some people, however, have documented and reported different results. Why risk it anyway?”.
A copy of my response on the forums is below:
One of the main contributors to the widespread debate on this topic is actually BECAUSE of the ‘official’ responses. Many people have asked the question of GM’s and received responses in game both advising for and against the ‘all reps at the same time’ topic.
A player then posts a screenshot of their particular ‘official’ response believing it to be the ultimate truth and so the debates go on. What we’re left with unfortunately is a collection of competing official responses and the many unofficial testimonials to go with them.
I wrote about this – and included links to several different GM response screenshots – in my bloodsail exalted guide which you can take at if you like.

So, do you still recommend keeping your bloodsail rep for the Insane grind?
Yeah absolutely – it’s not very much harder to do it and keep the bloodsail rep. You also get to have the nice full rep bar there :p
Thanks again for all your work on the guides. I just acheived the Insane yesterday on Vek’Nilash (Quaras is the character) and I went the non-traditional route of getting Exalted with the Steamwheedle Cartel first and then Bloodsail to Revered. I am still Hated with the cartel (although I am working on it). I was able to get the Insane yesterday finally getting my last heavy junkbox from Ravenholdt and did not need them at the same time. Yet more confusion for the process, but you can check my Armory profile to verify.
This only really affects the Bloodsail/Goblin grind, which is certainly the most time consuming. However, they are much “easier” than Shen’dralar and Darkmoon Faire, so for ME its just not really worth risking. If you started this grind with Goblin rep revered or honored, maybe its worth it. But I started the grind with a blank slate on both. I’m still with Saate on this one: this grind is insane enough to not risk it.
I also like seeing all my little green bars filled up. =3
I was exalted with goblins first and hated with bloodsail , then the 3.1 patch hit , i went and destroyed my goblin rep for bloodsail and i got the title without having to grind goblins back.
, on a side note here i did the grind in 1 sitting without logging off.
Hope this clears out some confusion , this achivement is retroactive for at least these 2 reputations
Someone in my alts guild did it without having both reps…

Not sure if this will get noticed/replied to, but.. I’m confused. Reading up on stuff for Insane as I want to start on the Bloodsail/Steamwheedle part soon, and I want to do it right. Currently (via having done some questing from leveling) I’m Honored Steamwheedle. So, my next step as I understand is wipe that via Bloodsail. Where I am confused is, I guess, why, at some point after rebuilding Steamwheedle rep (when I’m friendly at least), can’t I simply do some remaining low level quests?
Ok, that would mess up Bloodsail, but if I don’t have to have them simultaneously…or is that not yet confirmed?
If I *can’t* do the quests, I could do them after I have ‘The Insane’ though, to finish Loremaster, I presume?
Sort of answered my own question after a bit, decided to peruse the official Achievement forums. Apparently this is a common concern, and the consensus (which has actually finally been added to wowwiki) is that NO, they do not need to be concurrent/simultaneous.
RE: my point about doing some of the Steamwheedle quests – since I *can* per the non-concurrency I might as well, as it kills 2 birds with one stone, as is what I was hoping. In other words, and in general, it just buggers me doing non-repeatable quests that give rep once I’m already Exalted. Goes directly against my typically efficient ways.
