Reigns of the Winterspring Frostsaber - Saturday, December 30 2006, 5:13:59PM

I had known about the questable mount in Winterspring for a long time, but until taking my break from raiding in November I had never seriously considered taking on the insane challenge. The premise is quite simple really - you start at 0/3000 Neutral with the Wintersaber Trainers and at Exalted you can buy the mount.

It is the method in which the madness lay. You have a few repeatable quests available that get you 50 rep each handin, when you do the math that equates to 810 handins for the mount for a non human! That's around 225 hours of work total.

It was a scary grind to undertake, because it's so massive and an all-or-nothing deal. If you give up at any stage you leave empty handed.

With a lot of work every day over about 6 weeks, I got my mount on the 20th December :)

Saate on Frostsaber

HUGE thanks to Too, who was there grinding with me every day for the majority of it - this guy is a crazy rep whore just like me, and kept me going during some of the tough times when the village was camped out. We had some huge fun doing runs together!

Big shout outs to Wiccanwraith, Tygramoon, Sazbawt, Maybella, Ghast, Talesdrin, Erielarla and Pathwatcher for their help along the way. Also big props to Xandivious, who helped us clean out the farmers on countless occasions - he's not just the corruptor of the Winterfall Furbolg, he's mah best friend!

2414 AP and 34% Crit Chance in Cat Form - Saturday, November 11 2006, 4:01:16PM

So...sup! Taking some time off raiding to farm and generally chill out until BC comes out. Figured its finally time to put a few updates up on here - after this one I've got AQ Opening Quest stuff and various rep farming stuff to share.

Over the last couple of months I've been focusing on feral cat dps gear and have been lucky enough to get a majority of the stuff I was after - in particular Prestor's Talisman, Ghoul Skin Tunic and Gloves of Enforcement.

The screenshot below was taken with full raid buffs right after I had triggered Earthstrike, just wanted to see how high I could get that Attack Power number :) A day after this the tome of knowledge (best/only feral offhand) finally dropped for me after about a million Strat SM runs - aaaaaargh!

Link to my cat gear is here.

Random Challenges - Saturday, November 11 2006, 4:18:21PM

Usually outside raid time I've got some kind of project to work on - like repping something to exalted, farming for something specific or buying/selling items from the AH to make gold.

Occasionally between objectives, I'll set random goals to keep myself entertained - figured I'd share a couple :)

3 Man Berserker

While farming crocs/tigers in Zul'Gurub for a few Bijous with Penfold & Quixui we thought to have a crack at a Berserker and managed to take one out with just the 3 of us. In a time where Onyxia is being 4 manned this is not necessarily a significant achievement, but was a fun challenge :)

Blackrock Depths - Solo Bar Clear

This one is actually a pretty good challenge for anyone - you have to clear the entire bar in BRD solo, including Ribbly Screwspigot + Cronies and the Fireguard + Anvilrage Wardens that bust in.

Use of dark iron ale is permitted, but only as much as you can buy in the same run (ie 15 mugs). Its fun to figure out, and definately doable - flick me an email if you give up and I'll share the strat :)

Bored at work + Warcraft Obsession = !

So I just had to share this one, this is the kind of thing that a slow afternoon at work churns out - at the time I was doing a lot of 2-man croc/tiger runs through ZG with Pro/Dragonstrike since my big focus was getting Exalted with ZG. I wanted to save up all my coins/bijous until I was done with ZG, so I had to figure out exactly how much rep I needed to get from killing before I could stop and do the turnins:

So I made the following 'Bijou Calculator' in excel >_<

Calculated to perfection, I received my rewards ^^

That's what big brothers are for - Saturday, November 11 2006, 4:45:57PM

I think the screenshots here speak for themselves - it was a quiet afternoon in Gadgetzan with my bro Ketch:

Sure enough, my well honed peer pressure skills result in the following:

At least he killed the flightmaster before dying :p

...and for my next trick!

One day during a Blackwing Lair run I was a little bored during trash after Firemaw, so proposed a game of 'dares'. The general premise was that we would take turns daring each other to say stuff over Ventrilo, each time getting more self demeaning etc.

Ketch was unaware, however, that I had setup a whisper key that meant only he would hear what I was saying - not the rest of the raid :p So the dares start, and after a few minutes the raid is hearing Ketch announcing stuff like "I'm a big girl who is having sexual relations with Aider":

He was pretty pissed off when he found out, but not before I was crying with laughter :p Me = Best brother ever!

27,663 Armor in Bear Form! - Monday, April 10, 2006, 11:25:23 PM

After months of collecting feral gear I finally decided to respec feral with thick hide and see if I could break my old record of 17,985 armor in bear form. I'd put together a good collection of gear since my last high armor attempt, and this time threw in a couple of the more obscure pots for good measure (Ground Scorpok Assay, anyone? :p).

I got together a priest for Inspiration and a Pally with Imp LOH for their armor buffs, the results speak for themselves :)

You can see my feral gearset over at ctprofiles.net.

Omg I did it! Finally kicked the runecloth addiction! - Saturday, December 17, 2005, 7:39:11 AM

After getting my human faction mount a few months back I found I was not able to stop myself from buying more and more runecloth, the months to come would see a horrible and unhealthy addiction (at least for my bank account!) develop.

I was finally able to bring that addiction to an end today, check it out :)

Some Fun Facts:

* 28,000 Reputation (112,000 total) required from halfway through honored (average starting point) to max exalted
* 2240 Stacks of Runecloth (44,800 pieces) used
* 2912g spent at an average of 1.3g/stack
* 8960 mouse button clicks to turn in all the runecloth
