Northrend Panographs – Part 2

Next lot of Northrend screenshots including the much requested Icecrown:

Northrend Panographs

Took about 30 new shots today – here’s the first lot! Keep the suggestions coming :)

Howling Fjord 1
Hownling Fjord 2
Howling Fjord 3
Sholazar Basin

Kalimdor Panographs

Did a couple of requests from the Consortium thread tonight. Thanks to Supes for passing on the /console commands to improve the quality and format of the screenshot save files!

The files in my screenshots folder are up to 30mb/each in size so for the sake of practicality (and my server’s bandwidth!) I’ve converted them from the TGA to high quality JPG files. If you’re especially interested in any of them let me know and I can upload the original files.

Also a special shoutout to [Cthulhu Ftagn] who I’ve learned has (bizarrely!) had a great panogramic screenshots thread going on MMO-Champion forums for the last couple of week. Definitely worth checking out!

Panoramic Screenshots

Have been running WoW in triple-screen mode lately for a change. My setup runs with triple 27″ DELL U2711 screens so it makes for a pretty cool immersive experience! One cool thing I realised is that screenshots were saved at that same 7680×1440 resolution. I ended up taking a bunch of different shots to test it out:

Ironforge Bank
Surwich in the Blasted Lands
Arathi Highlands
The Mountains in Loch Modan
Stormwind City

Finally here’s a quick phone pic of how the screens are setup:

Let me know if there’s any locations you think might make cool shots and I’ll see what I can do :)

Warcraft Word Jumble – Latreau

Shout out to Latreau, a friend from EU-Argent Dawn, this week! He’s into gathering professions so that’s the theme for this one.

There are no warcraft-specific words so should be fairly easy. As far as I’m aware the scoring is still broken (giving an ‘error’ on completion).
I’m looking at changing that functionality to leave a timestamped comment when the jumble is completed. So until then leave a comment to let me know how you found the puzzle :)

Warcraft Word Jumble – Alto

Shout out to Alto of [Alto's Gold"ish" Advice] this week :)

The Image Of A Gamer

I want to start with something completely unrelated to the rest of the post. Saate has, at this moment, the following drafts of posts that could probably be finished and turned around into something on the site in the space of an hour:

- His trip to the Philippines
- That kid in Australia who pile-drived the bully that had been harassing him
- Thoughts on various “hard to earn” achievements being made significantly easier to acquire
- An IRC conversation about making gold that can be extrapolated into general thoughts on people just wanting to be told what to do instead of applying critical thinking

He’s also left notes to himself to write articles about how important location is to a sale and how to present the same product in a different way. He’s also got a note to himself for a post called “Making Margin The Wrong Way” which, he notes, has infinite examples.

So why am I telling you this? Well, he’s expressed some concern that he may overanalyze his posts before he actually puts them up, to the point that several of them end up becoming obsolete or irrelevant. He’s put in massive time on an RNG guide that I’d still love to see as a finished product.

As a result, this is me kicking his ass into gear by teasing you with what he’s been drafting up that you don’t know about. I’m tempted to include another picture of an ass. Anyway, if any of those topics sound like something you’d like to read his thoughts on, feel free to leave a comment telling him! Nothing generates motivation more than knowing that there are readers who are eagerly awaiting the next installment.

OK, let’s move on.

Global Agenda Video Contest Winner: Zevia

Link to the news post about it can be found here.

Normally Saate and I leave a couple days between each others’ posts to give readers enough time to catch up on anything they may have missed, but I wanted to post a quick little update here to let you guys know that I entered a video into a contest for Global Agenda a few weeks ago. They picked two winners for my category, and I was one of them!

Warcraft Word Jumble – Zevia

Hi Folks! After the recent holidays and a month overseas I’m back (thanks in no small part to cajoling from Zevia). As a thanks (and payback? :p) the weekly World Jumbles will be making a return!

I thought I might kick things off with one on Zevia’s favourite thing in the world – Archaeology!

Huge thanks to [Cal Henderson] for his help in updating some of the Jumble coding.

UPDATE: The scoring page seems to be returning an ‘error’ response. Looking into it, but it wont stop you solving the puzzle!

I’m Taking The Site Hostage!

As some of you may or may not know, Saate went on a trip recently. I’m pretty sure it was for business, but in his extended absence, you got to read a lot of me and my thoughts on… Well, mostly on D&D, but a little on Global Agenda and Audiosurf.

He’s back, he has pictures, and he’s started writing a new post detailing about his trip, but I told him that I wasn’t going to post anything else until he did because it’s his turn and I imagine people are getting very tired of reading non-WoW-related things and of reading only me. He was concerned I might hold the site hostage by perhaps showing pictures of asses, to which I said I wouldn’t.

Well, he still hasn’t posted anything, so now I’m going to go ahead and say I totally lied.
