Suspended for ‘Abuse of Economy’
Story time! On Thursday night I logged in to discover someone had listed [Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger] in the AH. They were in there for 40k which was an excellent price given they routinely go for much more. I bought them. I woke up the next morning and attempted to login, but discovered my account had been suspended.
I opened up my email and sure enough amidst the other fake blizzard emails was the suspension notice. It stated the following:
Account Action: 72 Hour Suspension
Reason for Action: Terms of Use Violation –
Exploitative Activity: Abuse of the Economy
Since I have an authenticator on my account and my activities in game are only ever legitimate I wasn’t overly concerned. It was obvious that the system had triggered off some recent account activity (such as the 40k AH purchase) and automatically taken action. It felt the action was necessary to potentially protect both myself and the integrity of the game economy.
My main concern was actually that it might take a few days to clear up and that my 5-box shaman alts would miss the rest of brewfest! :p It’s a long weekend here in Australia too so I wasnt looking forward to the prospect of not being able to login.
I’m extremely happy to say that after emailing Blizzard on Friday morning at 8am (Sydney Time) I had a response in my inbox at 9:55am! It advised that after a review the action had been reversed and apologized for any inconvenience. Colour me impressed!
I have a genuine interest in figuring out why their system has inconsistent false positives like this. I’ve posted a similar breakdown to the one above in the Customer Service Forums. You can see the thread here and I would encourage anyone with constructive input to participate in the discussion.
Since all this has occured I’ve also noticed that something unusual appears to be happening with the [Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger] items appearing in great numbers. A blue poster has already commented stating that ‘duping is impossible’ but the data do not lie! Be wary folks, and think carefully before buying these up for resale!

Treasures: Magic Rooster Egg
With the combination of a penchant for curiosities, a collector mentality and half a decade’s playtime you can imagine I’ve ended up with a bank full of pretty interesting things on my main character. Old quest items, quest rewards, rare drops with unique models or clickable effects, super rare stuff….the list goes on and there’s a story behind them all!
I thought that – besides giving me some Adobe Illustrator practice – it might be cool to share these stories with you guys each week :)

Would love to hear about your own collections and treasures as we go! You can now also chat to me or hit me up with feedback via Twitter so don’t forget to check out the link in the side bar!
Archaeology News – Qiraji Battle Tank Mount?
Here’s an excellent intro to how the new Cataclysm profession Archaeology will look and work. It was put together by Totalbiscuit of thecynicalbrit.com who I think has done a fantastic job in introducing things.
As you’ll see from watching the video it looks like it’ll be quite a time sink to get to the good (read: vanity) stuff! There’s already been mention of vanity pets, heirloom weapons and even mounts.
One of the most interesting things to come out of recent datamining is this:

It’s stirred up many forum threads over exactly what kind of mount it will be, how hard it will be to get, and what it will look like. It doesnt take a huge amount of imagination to read the lore text there and – combined with what else has been datamined – figure it out:

So it seems that after so many years we may start seeing more battle tanks around. It may surprise you to hear that as a Scarab Lord I’m not particularly bitter or against the idea of this occuring. People have been asking for a chance to get this mount for some time and, as they say, the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few!
I’ve had years of my mount being ‘special’ and you’ve all seen the masses of whispers it has brought. I’ll still have my title and the feat of strength – onwards to better things eh? :) Really looking forward to learning more about Archaeology so you can bet there will be plenty more posts on this topic!

Scarab Lord Whispers, Part 3
A year ago I posted my first ‘Scarab Lord Whispers’ compilation. Some months after that I ended up putting together a second compilation and figured I’d leave it there.
Well as time passed and the whispers kept coming I started collecting screenshots again. This time I’ve gone for a much different presentation! Huge thanks to Shannon who helped out with the Photoshop work on this one.
Enjoy! :)
Scarab Lord Whispers
So occasionally when I’m on my [Black Qiraji Battle Tank] someone will say to me “I bet you get a lot of whispers about that mount”. It recently occurred to me that the best way to show how much of an understatement that is would be to keep a record of the whispers I got over a month or two and put them all together.
So I did…and here you go! :)
